“Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.”

Romans 12:2

We can know the will of God. It is written for us in the Holy Scripture. We can know God and know His will for our lives and the core of this is the renewed mind to God. We are not to imbibe the faulty mindset of the spirit of our age, but have renewed minds that know the Word of God and prove His perfect will for us.

It is easy to be taken in and manipulated by the minds all around us and to just follow the most attractive or loudest voice that calls out to us. It is more difficult to discipline ourselves to know the mind of God and follow Him, as our hearts are naturally opposed to Him. We find ourselves having to subjugate our own will in order to follow the will of God. This involves a mind of humility and faith in God and a godly determination to follow His way and not our own, or any other person.

When our mind is renewed by God in this way, it actually makes us happy and we start to prove the Lord on a daily basis and find the reality of spiritual life in Him. The pathway is set before us in the Book and if we follow it, it leads to peace of mind and heart and a life set free from the cloying restraints of a fallen world…
